Tarin said no concession has been given to tax evaders in the new budget.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin on Tuesday warned those who ignored notices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and said that he would not spare tax evaders in the budget for next fiscal year.

Speaking informally to Dunay News on Tuesday, he said that measures for Rs 264 billion could be taken instead of Rs 383 billion in the budget, while relief was given to various sectors through the Senate Finance Committee.

He said that the recommendations of the Senate have been included in the budget proposals and implementation of tax measures will start from July 1. “I will not spare tax evaders in the next budget,” Tarin said and added he is ready to sit down and discuss tax issues with all parties.

Tarin went on to say that policy enforcement measures will be implemented after talking to all the parties, adding that in the past, tax evaders have ignored notices but those who ignore FBR notices will suffer.

The finance minister said that the tax officer would not be able to harass the taxpayers, adding that no concession has been given to tax evaders in the new budget.
