Rupee falls by 45 paisa against USD
The greenback closed at Rs156.19
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 45 paisa in the interbank on Monday against Pakistani rupee.
The greenback closed at Rs156.19 on first business day of the week compared to previous closing of 155.74.
Since start of June, dollar has risen by 1.79 rupees. However, the greenback has lost 12.24 rupees or 7.54 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro depreciated by 24 paisa and closed at Rs189.22 against the last working day’s trading of Rs189.46, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.42, whereas a decrease of 63 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs219.94 as compared to its last closing of Rs220.57.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 12 paisa each to close at Rs42.52 and Rs41.65 respectively.
