Punjab budget with outlay of Rs2.6 trillion to be presented today

Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht will present the budget.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Budget of Punjab for the fiscal year 2021-22 will be presented today with an estimated total budget outlay of Rs2.600 trillion.

According to details, Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht will present the budget in the assembly session chaired by Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

According to sources, government plans to provide relief to its serving and retired employees with 10 percent increase in salary and pensions this year.

The Punjab government has fixed the target of Rs300 billion of provincial revenue from tax and Rs73 billion from non-tax sources for the fiscal year 2021-22. Province is also set to get Rs1680 billion from federal government.

Government also plans to set aside 560 billion rupees for the developmental projects. With 12 percent increase, Rs424 billion will be earmarked for education while Rs10 billion for Punjab Rozgar Program and Rs3 billion for Hunarmand Jawan Program will be allocated in the budget.
