NEPRA approves hike in electricity price by 90 paisa per unit

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has on Friday approved an increase in the electricity price by 90 paisa per unit under the quarterly fuel adjustment charges.

The new price will be implemented after issuance of a formal notification by the federal government following which an additional burden of Rs 90 billion will be put on the consumers.

The electricity companies had requested the NEPRA for quarterly adjustment of Rs 91.36 billion. The authority approved the adjustment of Rs 90.367 billion after inspecting the data and forwarded its decision to the federal government.
