The pays of the government employees were enhanced by 15 percent as against 30 percent inflation.

Economic survey 2010-2011 puts the population at 170.70 million and by 2015 it will be 190 million. With a work force of 50 million, Pakistan is 9th biggest country in the world where millions of people are jobless.Government claims pay increase will help reduce the burden of inflation. But experts say healthy growth rate is needed to enhance the buying power of the common man. The disparity between the pay scales of higher and lower officials should also be removed.
