Increase in prices of twenty essential commodities including milk
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - According to the statistics agency, prices of 20 essential commodities including milk and lentils have gone up in a week.
According to a report on inflation released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, in the last week of August, inflation rose to 0.80 per cent and reached 9.47 percent.
During the week, prices of 20 essential commodities went up, prices of 6 essential commodities declined and prices of 25 essential commodities remained stable.
Prices of 20 essential commodities, including tomatoes, onions, lentils, potatoes, fresh milk and yoghurt, garlic, poultry, eggs and LPG, rose during the week.
According to the statistics, sugar became cheaper by 87 paise per kg, besides bananas, wheat, flour and rice.
Mutton, beef, powdered milk, tea, petrol, diesel, kerosene, electricity and gas prices remained unchanged.
