ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The growth target for the next financial year has been set at 2.3 percent.
According to the budget documents received by Dunya News, the growth target for the next financial year has been set at 2.3 percent.
The growth target for cotton for the next financial year has been set at 1.3 percent, livestock at 3.5 percent, forests 1.5 percent and for fisheries at 2.1 percent.
According to document, the growth target for industry in the next financial year has been set at 0.1 percent, the growth rate in minerals is expected to be 0.5 percent while the growth rate in manufacturing sector is likely to be negative 0.7 percent. The growth target for the energy sector has been set at 1.4 percent, the construction sector at 3.5 percent and the services sector at 2.8 percent.
Meanwhile, a consultative meeting of the Annual Planning Coordination Committee was held under the chair of Jahanzeb Khan. The meeting reviewed the development framework of the country in view of the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the statement issued at the meeting, allocating Rs630 billion for development budget has been proposed for next year.
According to the Ministry of Planning, 59 percent funds have been proposed for infrastructure under the development budget. Special attention will be given to the health sector to provide relief to the common man due to the epidemic.
