GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – The Punjab Food Department has achieved 70 percent wheat procurement target in Gujranwala, Dunya News reported on Monday.
According to details, the Punjab government had given Gujranwala a target of procuring two hundred and ten thousand metric tons of wheat and it has already bought one hundred and twenty-four thousand metric tons.
The district administration has formed 19 centers to procure wheat where 2.1 million bardana [gunny bags] were distributed. The growers are happy for being paid good amount for their crop.
Furthermore, the district administration told that action has been taken against smuggling and hoarding and millions of wheat bags are recovered as a result.
