ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The oil refineries of Pakistan have warned the petroleum division that the oil wells in north will have to be shutdown if the government does not consume the existing petroleum reserves, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
Sources privy to the matter have informed that the move will create a new crisis and affect petroleum supply to the northern and the central areas.
It has further been learnt that the Attock Group of Companies has already closed two of its plants whereas Qadirpur gas field has reduced its production.
Let it be known that the oil consumption has decreased in Pakistan due to the lockdown in the country to counter novel coronavirus.
