Rs1837bn to be spent on development projects during next fiscal year

A sum of Rs10 billion would be spent under Prime Ministers Hunarmand Programme.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal and provincial governments will spend Rs1837 billion on the development projects during the next fiscal year.

According to the development budget documents available with Dunya News, a total of Rs1837 billion would be spent on development projects, including more funds are being allocated for projects including roads, dams, energy, railway, higher education, FATA and green Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over a meeting of the National Economic Council on May 29.

The federal government has allocated RsRs925 billion while the provincial governments have allocated Rs912 billion for the development budget, the documents added.

A total of Rs157 billion have been allocated for NHA, while Rs84 billion for water resources, Rs42 billion have been allocated for PEPCO.

A sum of Rs10 billion would be spent under Prime Minister’s Hunarmand programme.

As many as Rs32 billion are likely to be allocated for higher education, while Rs5 billion for ERRA, Rs7 billion for Environmental Changes Division and Rs36 billion are likely to be allocated for Finance Ministry.

The annual development budget of the Interior Ministry has been decreased from Rs13 billion to Rs9 billion, while the annual development budget of the Defence Division has been decreased from Rs50 billion to Rs42 billion.

A total of Rs44 billion will be allocated for the Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs.
