PPL discovers hydrocarbons at Chakwal

KARACHI (Dunay News) - Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on Friday announced discovery of hydrocarbons at district Chakwal in the province of Punjab.

In a notification sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) said the company owned 100 percent working interest in, and is the operator of, the Karsal block under Exploration License No. 3372-18 and has discovered hydrocarbons from exploration well Talagang X-I situated in district Chakwal, Punjab.

The company said initial testing in the Eocene carbonates of Chorgali, Sakesar formation, 313 barrels per day of hydrocarbons flowed together with a minor immeasurable quantity of gas at FWHP of 77 psi on 32/64” choke.

The well is being drilled further to test the deeper formations and its entire potential will be determined after evaluating and testing of the other potential hydrocarbon bearing zones in the well.
