Summary Finance Minister says "Charter of Economy" should be signed between political parties
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that the opposition’s reservations regarding the Bill concerning the privatisation of the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) have been cleared, reported Dunya News.
Dar attended a conference regarding the signing of a memorandum between Institute of Health Sciences (HIS) and Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore. While addressing the media afterwards, he stated that the country’s economy has “took off” as a result of the measures taken by the government.
He said that the opposition’s reservations regarding PIA privatisation Bill and the sale of the hotels of operated by the particular institution have been clarified.
He added that in order to increase revenues obtained through taxes, the tax network is being expanded and that various schemes are being introduced in this regards.
Finance Minister said that, similar to the Charter of Democracy, a “Charter of Economy” should be signed between political parties, adding that all parties must back the government in order to strengthen the economy of the country.
