Summary Hang Seng Index ended 0.71 percent, or 160.55 points down
HONG KONG (AFP) - Shares in Shanghai broke a five-session winning streak Wednesday after data showing Chinese inflation eased in September compounded fears about the world s number two economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.93 percent, or 30.79 points, to 3,262.44 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, fell 1.20 percent, or 22.96 points, to 1,884.16.
And in Hong Kong the Hang Seng Index ended 0.71 percent, or 160.55 points, down at 22,439.91.
