Summary EU has lifted dumping duty on plastic imported from Pakistan and WTO has also been informed
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – European Union (EU) has on Thursday lifted the dumping duty on plastic seed imported from Pakistan and the World Trade Organization (WTO) has also been informed about this development, reported Dunya News.
According to industry sources, EU had imposed anti-subsidy duty on plastic seed imported from Pakistan in 2010. 10 years back, 80% of Pakistan’s plastic seed export was to Europe but after the imposition of this anti-subsidy duty, the export of plastic seed to Europe fell to mere 10% of Pakistan’s total export.
Stats reveal that Pakistan now exports plastic seed to Europe that helped make plastic worth USD 200 million and this export is expected to increase multifold after lifting of this duty.
