SHANGHAI (AFP) - Chinese shares were higher by midday on Thursday as the market rebounded on earlier government measures after Shanghai dropped more than three percent the previous day, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.99 percent, or 37.65 points, to 3,843.35. It fell as much as 3.08 percent before recovering.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 1.93 percent, or 39.76 points, to 2,098.60.
