Summary The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 44.36 points to 24,541.44.

 

HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks rose 0.18 percent in opening exchanges Friday, in line with further gains in Shanghai, which has climbed more than 12 percent in just over two weeks on hopes for fresh stimulus from China.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 44.36 points to 24,541.44.

In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.11 percent, or 4.03 points, at 3,686.13.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 0.08 percent, or 1.49 points, to 1,915.72.
