HONG KONG (AFP) - Hong Kong shares fell 0.28 percent Friday morning following a negative lead from Wall Street, while investors were also retreating after a more than two percent rally over the past two days.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 69.09 points to 24,399.80 by lunch on turnover of HK$50.98 billion ($6.58 billion).

In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.23 percent, or 8.40 points, to 3,573.87.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 0.57 percent, or 10.34 points, to 1,838.20.
