DUBLIN (AFP) - Ireland s economy powered ahead at the fastest rate in the European Union last year, staging a strong recovery after exiting its bailout programme, official data showed Thursday.
Irish gross domestic product -- the total value of all goods and services produced in the economy -- soared by 4.8 percent in 2014, the Central Statistics Office said in a statement.
