Summary Hang Seng Index added 291.94 points to 23,408.57 on turnover of HK$100.98 billion.

HONG KONG, (AFP) - Hong Kong stocks rose 1.26 percent Monday, tracking gains on Wall Street at the end of last week after the US Federal Reserve indicated interest rates were unlikely to be raised until mid-2015.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 291.94 points to 23,408.57 on turnover of HK$100.98 billion (US$13.02 billion).

On the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.61 percent, or 18.85 points, to 3,127.45 on turnover of 624.5 billion yuan ($102.0 billion).

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, dropped 3.64 percent, or 53.29 points, to 1,412.30 on turnover of 293.1 billion yuan
