Customs staff on Karachi Airport has successfully recovered 9 Kgs cocaine powder from smugglers.

(Dunya News) – KARACHI – The incidents of smuggling cocaine have been increasing before the start of New Year.

According to the reports, cocaine of more than Rs. 20 million worth has been confiscated during 3-times operation on Karachi airport while 2 foreigners have also been arrested.

The smugglers, who succeeded to make their way to Pakistan even after crossing through scanning machines on Dubai and Qatar airports, have been arrested by Customs staff on Karachi Airport.

This year, as compared to past years, such a major attempt to get cocaine powder clear through any airport hasn’t been reported.

The Customs staff deployed on Karachi Airport has successfully recovered around 9 Kgs cocaine powder having worth of more than Rs. 20 million from 3 foreigner passengers during last week.

According to the sources, the smuggling of cocaine has been increasing before the beginning of New Year for which the smugglers mafia is using air, land and sea ways.

It has also been told that cocaine from Columbia and Mexico can be easily be pasted and that’s the reason smugglers hide it in different boxes and bags which makes it go clear even through scanning machines.

Customs officials told that cocaine powder can easily be hidden and during the recent activities, it has been recovered from simple cloth bags where cocaine was pasted inside in such a way that no one could detect it.

However, when Customs officials weighed empty bags, the weight was more than usual after which ensured them of some suspicious activity. The staff successfully recovered cocaine from the bags while arresting the suspects.
