ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed serious concern over reports about the health of party founder Imran Khan, saying the news was not encouraging.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Gohar said a petition had been filed seeking implementation of the Supreme Court’s August 18 order. He said the party had requested the court to schedule an early hearing to resolve the matter.
He said a meeting with Imran Khan had taken place and Salman Safdar had returned after meeting the former prime minister. Gohar added that the party had received instructions regarding Imran Khan’s health and stressed that no compromise should be made on his medical well-being.
The PTI chairman said the party wanted implementation of the Supreme Court’s August 18 decision. He added that the party’s long march had ended and the provincial government had also gone.
Gohar called for an end to the arrest and detention of party leaders and workers and demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan’s sisters. He said political tensions in the country should not be allowed to escalate further and that the situation must come to an end.
