TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has reacted to the results of the US midterm elections, saying a change in political parties in Washington would not alter America's hostile policy towards Tehran.

In a statement, Khamenei said those expecting a shift in US policy following changes in political leadership were mistaken.

He added that those believing American hostility could be ended through concessions were suffering from a serious misconception.

Warning Washington against further aggression, Khamenei said Iran's response to any renewed US attack would be delivered on a much broader scale.

He further claimed that recent developments in the Gulf and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz had shattered the perception of American invincibility.

He also said the events had exposed governments that relied on foreign powers rather than their own people.

He warned that even the slightest indication of surrender would undermine the sacrifices made by Iran's people and those killed in the conflict.
