(Web Desk) - Two young men, including the nephew of renowned Indian singer Yo Yo Honey Singh, were killed in a road accident in Jalandhar, in India's Punjab state.
The accident took place on a flyover near Police Lines when a car returning from a birthday celebration rammed into a tractor-trolley parked on the road.
The victims were identified as Vidat Olakh and Aarav Talwar. According to Indian media reports, Olakh was Honey Singh's nephew and the son of Dinesh, owner of Punjabi music label Speed Records. Talwar was reportedly the son of a well-known sweet shop owner.
Police said they received information about the accident at around 3am. Municipal sanitation workers were cleaning the flyover at the time and had parked the tractor-trolley on the road to collect garbage.
The car was travelling from BMC Chowk towards BSF Chowk when it collided with the stationary vehicle.
According to police, five people had been travelling in the car before the accident. Olakh and Talwar died at the scene, while the other three occupants had reportedly returned to their homes earlier.
Police said the families declined legal proceedings, after which the bodies were handed over to them.
