On Tuesday night, Pakistan’s armed forces destroyed several posts of Afghan Taliban after they targeted civilian population, martyring one and injuring five along the Pak–Afghan border in Angoor Adda South Waziristan (Lower).
A civilian was martyred and five members of a family were injured after firing and shelling along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border struck a residential area in Angoor Adda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources.
The incident occurred amid reported cross-border hostilities, with a shell hitting a house in the area and causing casualties among civilians, the sources said.
Security sources attributed the attack to the Afghan Taliban regime, saying civilian areas had been targeted during the exchange of fire. The incident sparked anger among local residents following the death and injuries caused by the shelling.
The Pakistan Army responded promptly to aggression from the Afghan side. The sources said Pakistan armed forces destroyed several Afghan security checkpoints during the retaliatory operation.
Security sources said Pakistani troops stationed along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border remained fully prepared to respond to any potential aggression.
