LAHORE (Dunya New) – Pakistan Railways has made it mandatory for outsourced trains to provide concessionary travel facilities to eligible passengers under the prescribed rules, ensuring that such benefits remain available on privately operated services.
According to directives issued by Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore, concessionary tickets, passes and privilege ticket orders (PTOs) will continue to be available on outsourced trains in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, journalists, railway employees and other eligible individuals will be entitled to the prescribed concessions, the notification said.
The facility for concessionary quotas will also remain available up to 48 hours before a train’s departure, according to the notification.
Passengers who are denied a concession for which they qualify have been advised to approach the relevant railway authorities or lodge a complaint through the Pakistan Citizen Portal.
The directive seeks to ensure that eligible passengers can continue to avail themselves of established travel benefits even when trains are operated under outsourcing arrangements.
