Summary Revised rates set to take effect from Tuesday
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Petrol and high-speed diesel prices have increased in Pakistan under the latest government fuel price revision, raising the cost of both major petroleum products ahead of Tuesday (October 27).
The price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.54 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has become Rs2.16 per litre more expensive, according to an official notification issued by the Petroleum Division.
Following the adjustment, petrol will cost Rs379.25 per litre, while the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs395.82 per litre. The revised rates were determined under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) adjusting the ex-depot prices for October 27, 2026.
Petrol is widely used by private motorists, motorcyclists and other small-vehicle owners, while high-speed diesel is a key fuel for heavy transport, freight vehicles, buses and agricultural machinery. Changes in diesel prices can affect transport and distribution costs, while petrol price adjustments directly influence motorists’ fuel expenses.
OGRA revised the ex-depot prices in accordance with the government’s petroleum pricing framework. Ex-depot prices form part of the pricing structure used to determine the cost of petroleum products before other applicable charges and retail-level factors are taken into account. The authority reviews prices under the established mechanism and communicates the revised rates through the relevant notification.
