KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two vessels carrying a combined total of more than 7,600 metric tonnes of imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have arrived at Port Qasim, according to the port administration.
The imported fuel is intended for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), the administration said.
The vessel Alisa One arrived with 3,083 metric tonnes of LPG, while the PGC Yanias carried 4,520 metric tonnes.
Together, the two shipments account for 7,603 metric tonnes of imported LPG.
Imported supplies reach port
The arrival of the vessels adds to the supply of imported LPG handled at the country’s major port near Karachi.
LPG is widely used in Pakistan for domestic cooking and other applications, including commercial and industrial purposes. Imported shipments can help supplement locally available supplies, although their impact on market availability and prices depends on distribution, demand and other supply conditions.
Supply and distribution
The port administration confirmed the arrival and cargo quantities but did not provide details of the subsequent distribution schedule or the expected impact on retail prices.
The availability of LPG in the domestic market will depend on how quickly the cargo is transferred through the supply chain and delivered to consumers and businesses.
