SM Tanveer nominated for FPCCI presidency, wins Gohar Ejaz's support

SM Tanveer says if elected, he would work for the welfare of the business community

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Dr Gohar Ejaz, patron-in-chief of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), has backed SM Tanveer’s nomination for the presidency of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh and other office-bearers met Dr Gohar Ejaz to discuss the upcoming FPCCI elections.

Speaking after the meeting, Dr Gohar Ejaz said all chambers in Sindh had nominated SM Tanveer, head of the United Business Group (UBG), as their candidate for the FPCCI presidency.

He welcomed the nomination, describing it as a good choice, and expressed hope that it would be accepted.

“It would be a matter of great pleasure if this nomination is accepted. Insha’Allah, SM Tanveer will serve the business community as president of the Federation,” Dr Gohar Ejaz said.

He also announced the establishment of the Federation Education Foundation, saying it would take over one school in each of Pakistan’s 170 districts.

SM Tanveer, the presidential nominee, said that if elected, he would work for the welfare of the business community.

The meeting was also attended by Aamir Ata Bajwa, Qurratulain Abdul Rauf, Mukhtar and Momin Ali Malik.
