(Dunya News) - Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stressed that climate commitments must translate into tangible results for communities.
Addressing a high-level event on the Climate Implementation Bridge (BRIDGE) in New York, the finance minister outlined three key requirements for effective climate implementation: a sound policy framework, access to financing and the capacity to deliver projects at the national level.
Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s progress in developing its climate policy and said the country was working to mobilise financing through domestic resources, international financial institutions, capital markets and climate funds.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that climate-related commitments move beyond policy discussions and result in practical outcomes for communities.
The finance minister’s remarks came as countries and international institutions discuss mechanisms to bridge the gap between climate commitments and their implementation.
