KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle 580 grams of hashish worth approximately Rs2 million to Dubai and arrested a married couple at Jinnah International Airport.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), a customs machine operator deployed at the international departures area detected suspicious baggage during routine screening. The passengers were scheduled to travel to Dubai on Flydubai flight FZ-330.
A detailed search of the suspicious baggage led customs officials to recover two wooden jewellery boxes fitted with specially concealed compartments for hiding narcotics.

Pakistan Customs seized the narcotics under relevant legal provisions and registered a case against the suspects under applicable sections of the Anti-Narcotics Act.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged smuggling attempt and identify any other individuals who may have been involved.
