ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has raised petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices again, with both major fuels becoming more expensive from September 17 under the daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
Petrol has increased by Rs6.88 per litre to Rs391.22, while the price of diesel has gone up by Rs5.62 to Rs421.45 per litre. The latest revision follows another increase announced for September 16, marking a further rise in domestic fuel prices within days.
The latest figures were announced under the government's new daily fuel pricing system, which allows domestic petroleum rates to respond more quickly to movements in international oil markets.
The mechanism is based on a seven-day average of international market prices, with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) authorised to announce daily ex-depot prices for major petroleum products.
