Summary Pakistan’s current account deficit narrowed to $98 million in August, significantly lower than both last year and July 2026.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s current account deficit narrowed on both annual and monthly bases in August this year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
The central bank said the current account deficit declined to $98 million in August, compared with $324 million recorded in August last year.
The current account deficit stood at $445 million in July 2026, according to the State Bank.
The central bank said the current account deficit during the first two months of the current fiscal year stood at $543 million.
In July and August of the previous fiscal year, the combined current account deficit was recorded at $853 million.
