KARACHI (Web Desk) - Private airline AirSial, backed by the Sialkot business community, has become Pakistan’s second-largest airline by fleet size after adding another aircraft to its fleet.
The addition of its 12th aircraft has taken AirSial’s fleet to 12 planes. The new Airbus A320 arrived at Karachi Airport from abroad last night and will be deployed for both domestic and international operations.
According to the available fleet figures, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) ranks first with 32 aircraft, followed by AirSial with 12 and Airblue with 11. South Air ranks fifth with two ATR aircraft.
AirSial management has also decided to add more aircraft to its fleet in view of plans to expand its routes.
According to an AirSial spokesperson, the airline has reached a deal with a foreign aviation company for 19 aircraft, of which 18 will be added to its fleet.
The spokesperson said the arrival of additional aircraft would support the expansion of flight routes and create new employment opportunities.
