Petrol jumps to Rs349 per litre, diesel reaches Rs374.31

New rates take effect from September 4 under revised pricing mechanism

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, with the new rates taking effect from Friday.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Energy's Petroleum Division on Thursday night, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs2.84 per litre, taking it from Rs346.16 to Rs349 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been raised by Rs2.28 per litre, increasing from Rs372.03 to Rs374.31 per litre.

The latest adjustment has pushed both major petroleum products higher under the government's revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
