KARACHI (Dunya News) - South Zone Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Asad Raza has ordered an inquiry into a viral video showing a dispute between two women at a residential building in Defence’s Khayaban-e-Bukhari area.
According to the DIG South, the inquiry will examine the reasons behind registration of the case and establish the facts surrounding the incident. SSP Investigation South Touheed-ur-Rehman will lead the investigation.
Police investigators said the challan in the case has not yet been submitted, while sections related to snatching and theft have been removed from the FIR.
Police officials said that if any bias or irregularity is found in the registration of the case, action will be taken against those responsible, including any police personnel found involved.
Sources said a plainclothes man visible in the CCTV footage is believed to be a member of the Korangi police. Police officials said all personnel seen in the footage would also be questioned as part of the inquiry.
Meanwhile, another video related to the alleged altercation and violence between women inside a residential flat in Defence has surfaced on social media.
The footage reportedly shows a woman, identified as Noor-ul-Ain, in an injured and frightened condition. According to her account, she suffered injuries to her eye and had bleeding from her nose and mouth, while her hair was allegedly pulled during the incident.
The police inquiry will also examine the available CCTV footage and other evidence to determine what happened and whether proper legal procedure was followed in the registration and investigation of the case.
