TEHRAN (Dunya News) - The Iranian government has described Field Marshal Asim Munir’s recent visit to Iran as highly productive and beneficial, saying the trip resulted in valuable diplomatic gains.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian presidential office, Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit produced significant results and important diplomatic achievements.
Presidential office spokesman Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei said the results of the field marshal’s visit would begin to emerge soon.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said important progress had been made during his visit to Iran, describing his meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian, along with Field Marshal Asim Munir, as highly positive and productive.
In a statement posted on X, Naqvi said discussions focused on the Iran-US conflict, rising tensions in the Middle East and the way forward.
He said the two sides also discussed measures required for the restoration of an Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU), which could contribute to progress toward a comprehensive resolution of the conflict.

Naqvi said the Iranian president openly conveyed his government’s position and concerns, while the two sides held constructive and useful discussions on relevant issues.
He added that important progress was made during the meeting and that the talks concluded in a highly positive atmosphere.
Naqvi expressed hope that the progress achieved would pave the way for further positive measures and contribute to lasting peace in the region.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Field Marshal Asim Munir held meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Supreme Leader’s representative to the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and the Iranian foreign and interior ministers.
According to ISPR, the meetings included comprehensive discussions on preventing further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and measures for an early resolution to the conflict.
The two sides also discussed regional peace and mechanisms for resolving conflicts through dialogue.
The Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and sincere efforts to facilitate negotiations, de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
