ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Another monsoon spell of rain is expected to begin in Islamabad and other parts of Pakistan from August 27, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Islamabad is likely to experience hot and humid weather over the next one to two days, with temperatures expected to reach 36°C. Strong winds are also forecast during the expected rainfall from August 27.
Meanwhile, hot and humid conditions are likely to persist in Karachi. Reduced sea-breeze activity and high humidity could make the weather feel more intense for residents.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to reach 33°C, while the current temperature has been recorded at 29°C. Humidity stands at 75%, with southwesterly winds blowing at 12 kilometres per hour.
Lahore and most parts of Punjab are also expected to remain hot and humid. Lahore’s maximum temperature is forecast at 37°C, while the minimum could remain around 29°C.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail, with rain likely at isolated places in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Torghar, Haripur and South Waziristan. Temperatures in Peshawar could reach 37°C.
In view of the prevailing weather conditions, citizens have been advised to take precautions during periods of intense heat and avoid unnecessary travel during rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
