PSX edges lower as KSE-100 loses 168 points

Pakistan Stock Exchange extended losses for a second day, with the KSE-100 index falling 168.05 points, or 0.09%, to 176,798.63 in Tuesday’s intraday trading.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened with a marginal decline on Tuesday, extending losses for second consecutive day.

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 index shed 168.05 points to drop to 176,798.63, down 0.09% from the previous close of 176,966.68.

During the session, the market touched a high of 177,775.70 and a low of 176,717.27. Trading volume stood at 134,833,815 shares.

A day earlier, the benchmark KSE-100 index faced downward pressure on Monday, shedding 199.84 points, a negative change of 0.11 percent, to close at 176,966.69 points against 177,166.52 points recorded in the previous trading session.

The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 933.516 million shares, compared to 689.166 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs 44.100 billion from Rs 35.657 billion. Market capitalization decreased to Rs 19.870 trillion from Rs 19.882 trillion recorded a day earlier.

Out of 498 companies that traded in the ready market, 222 posted gains, 241 suffered losses, while 35 remained unchanged, reflecting a mixed trend with a negative bias.
