The agreement brings the three countries under a common defence framework and establishes the principle that an attack on one member would be treated as an attack on all

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye has emerged as a significant framework for strengthening collective defence and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and South Asia.

The agreement brings the three countries under a common defence framework and establishes the principle that an attack on one member would be treated as an attack on all.

According to reports published by Bloomberg and Azerbaijan-based Caliber, the pact reflects changing regional security dynamics and the growing need for new strategic partnerships.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening coordination among the three countries and addressing emerging security challenges in the region.

Pakistan’s nuclear capability, military strength and strategic partnerships are also seen as adding significant weight to the new defence arrangement.

The pact could pave the way for deeper security and defence cooperation between Islamabad, Riyadh and Ankara, further strengthening their role in regional peace and stability.
