PSX gains over 1,000 points amid buying rally

PSX rebounded on Thursday, with the KSE-100 gaining 1,090 points, or 0.62%, to 177,936.81 amid renewed buying interest after Wednesday’s sharp decline.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rebounded on Thursday as the buying interest has returned to the market.

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 trading has gained 1,090.45 points, or 0.62%, to reach 177,936.81.

The index opened higher after ending the previous session on a weaker note. During the ongoing session, the KSE-100 moved between a high of 178,291.37 and a low of 177,266.89.

Trading volume stood at 120,423,109 shares, according to the market data provided.

The latest trend comes a day after the benchmark index continued its bearish trajectory on Wednesday, losing 1,109.15 points, or 0.62%, to close at 176,846.36.

The market had witnessed a trading volume of 787.893 million shares, compared to 1.038 billion shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs39.567 billion from Rs50.741 billion. Market capitalisation declined to Rs19.814 trillion from Rs19.906 trillion recorded a day earlier.

Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 185 posted gains, 271 suffered losses, while 40 remained unchanged, reflecting a persistent bearish trend across the market.
