MURREE (Muhammad Aslam Mir) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif interviewed women seeking party tickets for reserved seats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, reviewing their political backgrounds, party services and records of public service.
The interviews were held in Murree as the PML-N leadership continued consultations on nominations for eight reserved seats in the AJK Assembly.
The seats include five reserved for women, one for ulema and religious scholars, one for a technocrat and one for overseas Kashmiris.
During the interviews, Nawaz Sharif reviewed the candidates’ profiles and political activities and sought details about their contributions to the party and public welfare.
In the recent AJK general elections, the PML-N emerged as the largest parliamentary party, securing 25 seats while PPP won 12 seats.

Following its electoral success, the PML-N leadership is continuing consultations on nominations for the reserved seats as well as the formation of the new AJK government.
The party is expected to announce its final candidates for the reserved seats after completing the ongoing consultation process.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, Anusha Rahman and Rana Sanaullah were also present during the interviews of the women candidates.
