ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has announced another adjustment to petroleum prices, reducing the rate of petrol by 94 paisa per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by 54 paisa.
The revised rates will take effect from midnight, according to a Petroleum Division press release issued on Wednesday. The latest changes come under the federal government’s revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
The price of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been reduced from Rs325.92 to Rs324.98 per litre, bringing the rate below the Rs325 mark.
In contrast, high-speed diesel (HSD) has become more expensive, with its price rising from Rs382.25 to Rs382.79 per litre.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices for August 13 under the petroleum pricing mechanism issued by the federal government.
The latest adjustment follows the previous day’s revision, when petrol was reduced by Rs1.70 per litre from Rs327.62 to Rs325.92, while diesel increased by Rs1.39 from Rs380.86 to Rs382.25.
