SC stays re-polling at 4 polling stations in PB-9 Kohlu, restores Mir Chingez Marri's membership

Supreme Court suspends ECP’s re-polling order for four PB-9 Kohlu polling stations and restores PML-N’s Mir Chingez Khan Marri as a member of the Balochistan Assembly.

ISLAMABAD (APP):The Supreme Court on Wednesday suspended the Election Commission’s decision to hold re-polling at four polling stations of Balochistan Assembly constituency PB-9 Kohlu on August 27 and restored the membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mir Chingez Khan Marri.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case and issued notices to the parties before adjourning further proceedings until the last week of August.

The Election Commission had ordered re-polling at four polling stations in PB-9 Kohlu on August 27. Mir Chingez Khan Marri had challenged the decision before the Supreme Court.

The court suspended the Election Commission’s re-polling order and restored Mir Chingez Khan Marri’s membership of the Balochistan Assembly.
