PM Shehbaz praises minority community's role in Pakistan's development

PM Shehbaz praised minority communities for their contributions to Pakistan’s development, defence and education, while calling the trilateral defence pact historic.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the minority community for its significant contributions to Pakistan’s development and national progress, particularly its services and sacrifices for the country’s defence.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad held in connection with Minorities Day, PM Shehbaz said Pakistan’s Independence Day was approaching and the role of minority communities in the country’s development and prosperity was highly commendable.

The prime minister said minority communities had made valuable contributions to Pakistan’s development since the country’s establishment, adding that their sacrifices for national defence remained unforgettable.

PM Shehbaz said the government highly valued the sacrifices and services rendered by minority communities and acknowledged that their contribution to national development had always been significant.

He also praised the services of the Christian community in the education sector, saying their contribution to the country’s educational development was particularly commendable.

Separately, the prime minister said the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Turkiye defence agreement was aimed at promoting peace, development and prosperity, describing the agreement as a historic step towards regional peace and economic progress.
