Libya’s Waha Oil contains pipeline leak, resumes pumping

TRIPOLI (Web Desk) - Libya’s Waha Oil Company said on Saturday that it had contained a leak on the Zaqout-Sidra pipeline within 24 hours of detecting it during a routine inspection.

The company said pumping operations resumed at 4:00 a.m. after the leak was fully brought under control.

Waha Oil’s daily production typically ranges between 340,000 and 400,000 barrels per day under normal operating conditions, according to a company source who spoke to Reuters earlier this year.

Waha Oil, a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), operates as a joint venture with TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips.
