KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistani crew members kidnapped by Somali pirates have released another video message, appealing to the government for taking steps for their release.
Hostage Pakistani citizen Yasir Khan said in a video message that most of his colleagues have fallen ill and more than 100 days had passed since their abduction.
Yasir Khan appealed that the Pakistani government should negotiate with the Somali pirates and take immediate steps to secure their release.
Earlier, Somali pirates released a video showing a Pakistani crew member who was abducted along with others aboard the vessel Owner 25, renewing concerns over the fate of the hostages.
In the video, crew member Yasir Khan appeals for urgent assistance, saying he and his colleagues have been held captive by kidnappers for the past 42 days.
According to Yasir Khan, food and drinking water supplies on the vessel have been exhausted, forcing the hostages to consume dirty water from the ship's tank.
He said the crew is surviving on a single meal of boiled rice every 24 hours and appealed to Pakistan’s prime minister and chief of army staff to take steps for their release.
