KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Sindh School Education Department has issued a new circular announcing revised working hours for government schools across the province, effective immediately from August 6, 2026.
According to the notification, all government schools have been directed to strictly implement the new schedule until further orders.
The circular sets separate timings for single-shift and double-shift schools, covering primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary institutions to ensure academic activities continue under the revised schedule.
For single-shift primary schools, classes will run from 8:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays between August 6 and October 31.
From November 1 to March 31, the timings for single-shift primary schools will change to 8:30am to 3:00pm.
The department has also announced revised timings for double-shift primary schools. For double-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will operate from 7:30am to 1:30pm between August 6 and October 31, while from November 1 to March 31 it will run from 8:00am to 1:45pm.
The School Education Department has introduced revised schedules for single-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools as well, directing all education officials and school heads to ensure immediate implementation of the new timings.
