LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja asserted that the country's economy, laborers, and farmers are currently facing severe hardship.
Addressing the media, he noted that while discussions on creating new provinces could take place, no major constitutional or political restructuring should be accepted prior to holding free and fair elections.
Raja claimed that the current Parliament and provincial assemblies do not represent the genuine mandate of the public, arguing that an artificial system was established through compromised elections.
He stressed that any significant national decision—particularly constitutional amendments—must involve direct dialogue with, and the consent of, the PTI founder.
Detailing the party's immediate priorities, Raja stated that their primary demand is proper medical treatment and hospital transfer for the PTI founder, followed by his release and the dismissal of all cases against him.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the PTI founder's role in national politics must be formally acknowledged.
Commenting on future strategy, Raja highlighted that the September 27 call would not be a single-day event, urging the nation to actively participate in the struggle for political reform.
