(Dunya News) – West Indies have set Pakistan a target of 211 runs to win the first Test match between the two sides after being bowled out for 181 in their second innings.
The hosts began their second innings with a 29-run lead but suffered an early collapse, losing four wickets for just 43 runs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul was dismissed after scoring 35 runs, while Justin Greaves contributed 20 runs before returning to the pavilion. West Indies captain Roston Chase was dismissed for 5 runs when the team total reached 93.
At the close of the third day, West Indies had reached 126/7, taking their overall lead to 155 runs.
On the fourth day, the West Indies lower order added some valuable runs before the innings ended at 181 runs. Shamar Joseph top-scored for the hosts with 38 runs, while Jomel Warrican and Kemar Roach scored 20 and 18 runs respectively.
Other West Indies batters included Shai Hope (10), Roston Chase (8), Brandon King (5), and Aamir Jangoo (4).
For Pakistan, experienced fast bowler Mohammad Abbas delivered a superb performance, claiming five wickets and playing a key role in wrapping up the West Indies innings.
Pakistan now require 211 runs to win the opening Test, with an exciting contest expected between the two sides.
