(Web Desk) - Pakistan’s fast bowlers continued to dominate as Mohammad Abbas took three wickets and Khurram Shahzad added two more, leaving West Indies struggling on the third day of the opening test at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) on Monday.

After taking a 29-run lead by dismissing Pakistan for 282 in the first innings, West Indies failed to make the most of their advantage. Mohammad Abbas struck early, removing Brandon King for five and Kavem Hodge for a duck in the fourth over, giving Pakistan a strong start with the ball.
West Indies tried to recover after the early setbacks as Amir Jangoo joined Chanderpaul at the crease. The pair added 21 runs for the third wicket before Mohammad Ali dismissed Jangoo, leaving West Indies at 28/3.
Mohammad Ali then delivered another setback three overs later by removing experienced wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope for 10, reducing West Indies to 43/4.
After the fall of quick wickets, Justin Greaves came in to join left-handed opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul. The pair played carefully and added 37 runs for the fifth wicket before Aamir Jamal dismissed Chanderpaul on 35.
West Indies suffered another setback soon after, losing two more wickets. Abbas removed Greaves for 20, while Khurram Shahzad sent captain Roston Chase back for eight after getting him caught behind, leaving the hosts struggling at 93/7.
Shamar Joseph and Kemar Roach then slowed down Pakistan’s attack by putting together an unbeaten 33-run stand for the eighth wicket, helping West Indies avoid any further damage.
Both tailenders will now return to the crease on the second-last day of the Tarouba test as West Indies aim to build a challenging lead for Pakistan to chase.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas has been the standout bowler so far, taking three wickets for only 14 runs in 13 overs. Khurram Shahzad has picked up two wickets, while Mohammad Ali and Aamir Jamal have taken one each.
